Always Look Both Ways Before Crossing Washington Ave. Poem by Ted Sheridan

Always Look Both Ways Before Crossing Washington Ave.

Rating: 5.0

I look to the left for they claim to have answers
To all the unanswered questions and hanging shads
But I see corruption and hear more of their defeatist rhetoric
The same kind of crap I had spit on me during my tours in Vietnam
I look to the right as they have Presidential control
And started a war that nobody thinks they can win
I see corrupted logic and apathetic stupidity
As they handcuff and further restrain our military forces
With more foolish and oppressive Rules Of Engagement
I look to the center for an independent take
Of what this great nation needs
And all I see are so many two legged Lemmings
Drowning in a cesspool of indecisive mediocrity
Each side shouts and asks for more money
While trying to silence the others of a voice
It's certainly....
Politics as usual....
And the damn voting machine won't give me a receipt___

Sometimes it's better to not look at all.

Truth in humor...there is no longer a good left, right or middle of the road...and no receipt given for the vote. Just hold your hand out for the money seems to be the theme these days. Right to the heart of the matter, Ted, and, I might add, with great accuracy.
