An American Poet (For Jim Morrison) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

An American Poet (For Jim Morrison)

Rating: 5.0

There you are
Mocking Christ
That what my mother thought
Before she torn it down
With yr long, curly hair
Darken by the photograph
And yr arms raised in a crucified position
You stared at me as I slept
But I stared at that poster of you
And all I can see are the words
On top: An American Poet
I wonder if you are still alive
Reveal yourself, Jim
And return in three days

Awesome Tribute! Jimbo and the doors were the first classic rock artists i delved into my early teen years. He was the first singer who showed poetry could be combined with music. The Lizard king lives!

His coffin was nailed shut. Even his parents weren't permitted to view his deceased body. Legend has it that his astral body somehow couldn't find it's way back into his physical body. That would mean that the silver chord had somehow been severed. Highly unlikely!

Better ignore/overlook such things and move on.... No need to pay any heed.
