An Abundance Of Love (For Cooper)
You give me an abundance of love
And I wish I would do more
From yr brown eyes, a tear stains yr face
Watching the people and cars go by
As though, you are a great defender
Like a knight of olden times
But you guard me in other ways
With kisses and smiles,
My heart can't be sad
When you let me hug you
Or kiss my tears with yr warm tongue
And all you want in return
Are belly rubs and liver treats
As I joyfully give

Very nice poem about a dog. It seems from the comments below that Kim Barney is the only one who didn't think this was a love poem - - at least not a traditional one. He is also correct that this is not blank verse, but free verse. You can fix that, you know - - just go to " edit poems" .

LeeAnn, this is a lovely poem. Very enjoyable to read. From the other comments, I'm not sure anyone else understood that Cooper is a dog! Just one thing: you have it listed as blank verse, and it is not. It is free verse. You have talent, girl. Keep writing!
