An Erosion Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

An Erosion

Will that day ever come.
When the majority of the people begin to see.
That an honesty to have and keep,
Is not only the best policy.
But also relieves one's mind to find,
A healthy and mentally free disposition.
Leaving denials and excuses to make,
A useless waste of valuable time.
With it done quickly to identify,
The sounds of nuts unscrewing from bolts.
In the heads of those who once relied,
Upon their lies to tell and delude them well.
And sell,
For a price too costly...
Many liars today are finding difficult to pay.
As debits have mounted to account,
For an erosion...
Of their integrity found to be,
Rapidly in irreplaceable decay.
