Come on my Love! Let us move to the East
Where the sun resurrects after his interim death
Where darkness first gives way to light
And life renews itself every morn
Look to the East beyond those crooked hills
Where poplars grow tall in line
And wild weeds hem the edges of pathways
Where bunnies and squirrels hop and jump
And merrily run round the trees
Where the wind moves whistling through bamboo reeds
Where the laughing cataract leaps down from the rocks
And flow along in silvery rills
Where the languorous breeze plays upon the leaves
Away from the tumult, far from the crazy crowd
With the pandemonium of the world
Hushed to serene silence
Let us move to that sequestered glade
Of perennial greenery, through the sunlit grove
Where we shall walk hands locked
Till the bright day gives way to starlit night
Inhaling night air in scented perfume,
Listening to the sweet whisperings of our soul,
Let us ‘drink life to the lees' from the chalice of love.
Oh! Come on, we shall not tarry…. Let's go!
An invitation crafted skillfully with fine threads of love. It will be lover's dream come true.
Your whole second stanza is a great example of NATURE as an analog of paradise, even of heaven. Of course, this is a human perception of nature which we can transcend. Nature itself is red in tooth and claw as Tennyson put it. Bur our human imaginations, our poetic mindset creates visions like your poem which lift us into a blessed appreciation of a humanized and peaceful landscape. This is the vision which restores some of those childhood perfections you put in BEFORE AND NOW. In such an enhanced environment how can we not be on our best, most generous and loving behavior? This is an invitation to be the best individuals - the angels will smile over us and God will bless us - as it should be!
Beautiful, Valsa, I thought I read between the lines, not only the physical east but also the spiritual east with all its wondrous wisdom and inner peace. Wonderful poem
The way of presentation of this poem is fantastic. Addressing to love you have painted a much impressive poem having lofty theme. A great write dear madam, thanks for sharing.
Let us ‘drink life to the lees' from the chalice of love, love is the best refiner it can rectify the tarries.
Enjoyed this thoroughly. You weave magic with words when it comes to describing nature and, of course, love and longing.
Wow! Valsa! A wonderful poem with beauty of nature coupled with romantic love captured my heart!
Wow! Wow! Wow! In my perception, this is a masterpiece that deserves wide recognition. It should be among the top poems on PH. One of the best love poems I have red, a new favourite. Thanks Valsa for this germ that showed me a picture of Adam and Eve mingling in the graden of Eden free from life's worries and distraction before the great tragedy occurred.
