And I Couldn’t Give A Twinkle Poem by David Harris

And I Couldn’t Give A Twinkle

Rating: 4.1

There are times when the inspiration just comes,
and others when there is none.
You pick up your pen
and it is a great struggle to write.
You try to force it out,
but it doesn’t do any good.
You throw your hands in the air;
scream why is this happening to me?
Your brain answers back,
you fool can’t you see.
I want a day off like everyone else.
Lately you have been taxing me a bit,
and I couldn’t give a twinkle
what you want to do.
Go away leave me for a while.
I may come back later
and give your face a smile.

I love the humor here...and recognize it so well! ! When there is a thought tickling the back of your brain...like an itch, wanting to be scratched...and you can't make it arrive on paper....Been there, Done That (as the kids say! !) Well said, Friend David...Preacher Man...

David, at times like these you just have to lay down your pen until your 'inner scribble' comes back again! In my own experience I often find that's a good sign! Lovely bit of venting though: -) HG xx
