Charles Darwin
theorised that
apes and man
evolved from
a common ancestor
a few million years ago.
Most benevolently, man has
accorded ‘animal rights'
to every animal, including
his sister-species of apes.
Evolution, Darwin said,
has not stopped,
it never stops.
Does it mean….?
Yes. It does!
Man is not simply
the ultimate
of all evolutions.
A genus much superior to man
can appear on earth some day,
evolved from apes or man
or some other primates.
Will he, man,
end up pleading for
‘animal rights'
before the new genus,
after being ousted
from every pedestal
he occupies now?

The animals too have their rights. They would start demanding…..
Right now we want to plead for acknowledgment of basic human values, but there is not yet a superior genus to plead before. Because the post-human will be born out of humankind, it too will suffer from flaws and contradictions.
"Post-Human" need not be ‘born' out of man. As man and apes were ‘born' from a common ancestor, it could evolve from any primate including man. And "Post-human" may not be "Super-human". But, if ‘he' is not, ‘he' might perish in the hands of the cruel greedy man.

I would like to translate this poem
A wonderful poem. If there is the concept of human rights, there must be animal rights as well. Top score
