As Far As The Eyes Can See Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

As Far As The Eyes Can See

When the time comes to move on,
From a past to have had to let go.
The doing of it,
With that door wide open...
Becomes difficult to do.
Than receiving an award,
For personal achievement.

Heavy that weight to lift,
Off of one's shoulders...
Accustomed to bearing,
Burdens to feel as if boulders.
To have a moment that comes,
Removing the smell...
Of what has been done.
Can be frightening.
As well as exciting at the same time.

When that time and moment arrives,
Fresh and clear as dawn air is...
To inhale and exhale to breathe.
Without the facing,
Of obstacles or negativity.
And...
As far as the eyes can see.
Making the reality of it disbelievable.
With this to know...
A decision where to draw a line,
No one is permitted to cross...
From a threshold to the horizon?
Is scary!

Scary.
Yet wonderful.
Like someone discovering,
Dreams to wish and whatever is wanted...
Is free of opposition.
Betrayals tolerated that exist.
And lies told by deceivers.
As far as the eyes can see!

"Dear Father in Heaven?
Is this another step towards a new test?
If it is...
The experience of it,
Seems will be much easier than others.
And if You don't mind,
I would like to take a few minutes...
Before I explore and adventure,
Which direction to go to live and love it!
