As The Evening Falls Poem by Khairul Ahsan

As The Evening Falls

Rating: 4.8

As the evening falls,
Birds return to their nest.
The twilight clouds wander around,
Leaving a floating chiaroscuro of lights and shades
Of an array of colors; white, golden, purple and blue.

Here I watch you fade away, oh damsel clouds!
I know not who has tinged you with such nice colors,
I know not where you would wander away from here!

But I do know, that you are free to wander away
To wherever you want,
And here I wonder behind my window grills,
As a captive in the cage of happy domesticity,
Watching you wander away at your will!

a set of pretty pictures you draw with poetic words. lovely crickets lovely poem When the lovers take a moonlight stroll, And discuss their secrets in rapt attention, Even the crickets stop their evening song, As softly silence speaks, they stroll along!

Your Nature poems are beautiful! The clouds sailing in the sky and slowly disappearing out of sight are being watched by you from your window in the time of dusk fall! You wonder to which hide out they are retreating! Only a poet will have such thoughts on seeing the clouds in the sky! Beautiful description of a sunset!

Wow great wording, new word for me, 'chiaroscuro ', sounds poetic. It's creatively impressive how u have described the window bars as a cage alluding yet to happy domestic life. Could relate to that. Superb freeverse style here poet. Kudos. Pls do comment on my latest writing prose too titled, 'stand tall and proud yet humbly bow'
