The green leaves that begin to sprout today
Will grow bigger day by day.
They'll dance to the tunes of the whistling breeze,
And to their right and left they'll merrily sway.
As they gaily sing the songs of life,
A day will come when they'll turn gray.
Eventually they'll get dried up and drop down below,
When the tree makes just a little sway!
As the Winter sets in
Their youthful life begins to end.
The boughs and the branches will leave them quietly,
The earth beneath will beckon to befriend.
With whispers of goodbye from the above,
They'll fall to the lap of the mother earth
And merge with her in eternal love
For the next journey, who knows, of misery or mirth?

A very beautiful poem that portrays the truth of life. I liked the way the poem unfolded and effortlessly moved towards its destination, To quote a few lines: They'll dance to the tunes of the whistling breeze, And merrily to their right and left sway. They will eagerly wait for the call Of the soil down below, as and when it may! And merge with her in eternal love For the next journey, who knows, of agony or mirth? Really enjoyed reading this beautiful poem Khairul ji.
A beautiful poem on the journey of life. The flow, the rhyming and the metaphor used are simply extraordinary. 'As the Winter sets in Their youthful life will begin to end. The boughs and the branches will leave them quietly, The earth beneath will beckon to befriend.'.. the commencement of journey to the end starts here. Great ink. Thanks for sharing.
