As The Wind Bends Poem by Sandra Feldman

As The Wind Bends

Rating: 5.0

Since the tribes
The majority of people
Are abused,
Spilt blood, rights denied
Incessant wars and sacrifice.

Chiefs, Kings,
After,
Presidents, Prime minsters
All as selfish as can be
Hungry for power,
Deep in inhumanity!
Entrance, America
Cradle, like ancient Greece
Of Democracy!
Illuminated individuals
Say, " All men are born free"
Not always carried out
As should be,
But nevertheless
A brave beginning,
Towards Liberty,
And American Democracy!

Fast Forward,
And so,21st century arrives
Things are not so good,
Economy quivers,
Employment shivers,
And so
A giant, heart of a man
Wants to see the Country run
As best as it can,
Becomes President,
Beating all the odds,
And booms the Economy,
As never before, seen
Now, all is going so well
So, the creatures
Of swamp, attack him,
Want him gone,
Because he is honest
And loyal to us, the people
And the people know it
And love him for it!
So good luck Swamp!
Your good days are
OVER!
We know the truth
Even if you have
By the dirtiest means
Tried to run truth over
You cannot bend the wind
In your lying favor,
Anymore,
You, yourself poisoned
The Nation's hopes
And muddied its clear waters,
Locking
Your opening to any
Future, political Door.

Sandra, there is so much truth in your thought provoking poem. People should not seek public office merely for personal gain, but to make our nation better and serve its citizens. Great poem!
