Barbie Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Barbie

Rating: 5.0

I never play with you
I found you gave out too many promises
That I could be anything successfully
And you put rose-coloured glasses
On other little girls
With yr possessions of an airplane and cars
And being an astronaut
I knew the real struggles of women
Sorry, Barbie, but you're no feminist
You give false hope to little girls
With yr fake blonde hair
And painted on blue eyes
You are a let down even in the movies

Barbie really does represent so many things, people, ideas from the world that are really intended to erase the potential of the young. Brilliant poem, LeeAnn.
