Becoming 2023 Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Becoming 2023

Rating: 4.8

Will there be a sun
That truly shine through
The grey clouds
Burning them until the sky is blue
There have been dark clouds above
And the deary days of December
Has made me melancholy
However, it will be January soon
And I hope the sun will arrive then
It doesn't matter neither way
For just on the horizon, a new year
And I want to continue
Spending time with you

New year brings a lot of hopes. We kinda wish that things would change for the better. They might not change but there's nothing wrong in hoping. And maybe if we change, the world will look new and different as well. Beautiful and natural!

3) " It doesn't matter neither way "… the double negative in the line accentuates eagerness of the poet to escape the cold depressive days of December and to welcome the warmer January. That is really poetic.
