Before Dawn Has Yet To Appear Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Before Dawn Has Yet To Appear

Tomorrow for me has yet to come,
To commit with definite certainty...
What it is I will do,
To have it done with a guarantee.
Or insist that each minute and hour of it,
Where I will be sitting or standing...
To walk with others in its midst.

I've learned too many lessons,
From experiences taught in days passed.
And not one has kept me prepared at all,
To know the future and what it brings...
That would give me the confidence,
To describe the Sun arising on the horizon...
Before dawn has yet to appear to shed light.
