Betwixt All That Unhealthy Surrounds.... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Betwixt All That Unhealthy Surrounds....

Rating: 5.0

Betwixt all that unhealthy surrounds, don't know how,
the air in your country is so polluted
the government does nothing about it at all
looks just like all residents are executed

no food, no coffee nor tea
no fresh air at all for me
no peace, no hope, no love at all
beware, soon you'll wear your politic pall

betwixt all that tattered sound
governmental abound
be in rapture
entirely different than be excited
on dusty polluted ground
away from home bound

betwixt all that unhealthy surround....

Today's atmosphere is highly polluted. Air, water and soil and many resources are polluted. This is the time to think very deeply on this issue. We have to resolve and retrieve the beauty of life and nature. You have transferred wonderful message through this excellently penned poem...10

There's a deep sadness that one encounters when one explores questions that involve government. On the one hand, we are told the government is needed to improve quality of life. But, as you so brilliantly observe, the hand of government is one that often leads to destruction and death. This is a magnificent work, Sylvia.

A great statement about air quality. Fortunately we are not facing this in Australia with exception to the recent fires in some areas.

Indeed, Lyn, I know, only the bush fires in some areas, this is nature's disaster, in my poem it is the government that does nothing for the country, for the residents. Bush fires, nature's occurrences is entirely different. Thank you so much for your valuable comments, Lyn. God's Blessings
