Birbaha Hansda
She is a tribal girl and an educated one
Known for her work in Santhali cinema
But now she is eying a much bigger role
Through elections from Jhargram (WB)
To protect the rights of voiceless tribals
Who've been asked to flee from forests
No money but she has courage to walk & talk
And stand firm on ground for her natives
This is a reserved seat but a stiff contest
Awaits due to richer and bigger rivals
If she wins, tribals' voice will be heard
In the supreme legislative body in India.
An optimistic message to this poem. I hope she gets elected. The poem looks very neat on the page.
Nice poem on a tribal girl whose sincere works one day surely will make the tribal's voice heard
Thanks for your kind words about the poem. What impressed me was her humility and firmness.

I am really proud of this tribal girl for the courage she has shown. I do not know whether she has won. But surely, she is a leader and voice of the tribals that will be heard by the people. Thank you Rajnish ji for standing up for the tribals and woman power of India.......10
Thanks for your visit and interest in this unusual fighter-contestant of tribal background. Though, she could not win the election, her participation itself is a sign of change in the perception toward issues besetting simple tribal folk. Thanks, Geeta ji, for an amazing review.
