Tonnes of glitter and gloss gasping to race
Up the runway, rising to kiss the sky,
Lifted up but by air, pumping up pace,
Or landing else, down from the heavens high,
And with a puff of smoke and sticky squeal,
Touching the tarmac tamely on soft wheels,
Be it brain or brawn, man boasts and proud feels,
Yet, birds when do it seems a far big deal.
Those birds of brawn gulp gallons of fuel,
Shattering ears, silent whilst the birds fly,
Tanked up on just fruity nectar, et al,
And oft shaming fighter planes in the sky;
Poor dragonfly, she scarce can help but laugh:
Dog fights? Watch us do that and more by half!

Kids spend hours watching in disbelief planes fly, take off and land. Some of us have marvelled at birds doing all that with consummate ease. Few know that most flying insects also do this and more even better than birds. Men have put all their bets in copying Nature, scaling up technology. Only of late has man focused on scaling down, or nanotechnology, inspired by microbes. This sonnet feels man has much to do before it can catch up with Nature.

An excellent sonnet about nature and human beings desperate attempt to catch up with nature through exploration of technologies! Thanks dear sir for sharing.......................10

A wonderful sonnet with superb imagery. It captures the many wonders of nature. Man's creations no matter how advance can never surpass the Hands of Mother Nature. Brilliantly penned, Sir.
Thanks again Rose Marie for such good comments.
