Birds Borderless Bonding Well Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Birds Borderless Bonding Well

Rating: 5.0

Ah borderless birds ever so cute
That believed in no border dispute,
Yet, at the embassy level
The matter was placed still.

A bird had come from far across
To spend winter in warmer climes,
To them border made no good rhymes—
To them human concerns were gross.

A goose when came, with a transmitter came,
With a passport, visa, number nor name,
Dropping it off— what was to it tied,
It migrated back to Chinese side.

Poor bar-headed migrating geese—
Mongolian, Tibetan or Chinese,
Knowing no diplomatic ways,
Made Indians run on a wild-goose chase!
_______________________________________
A bar-headed goose crossed on to Indian side (Karnataka, capital Bangalore where I am spending my time at present)to spend winter months. Poor thing, it knew nothing of Indo-Chinese Line of Actual Control (LAC) . And it so happened that it lost its satellite transmitter fixed on to it in China. On request from China, India searched for this transmitter and found it. It became a case of birds that believed in no borders, nor diplomatic niceties, but still helped establishing some bond between two countries.

Migration of birds is well executed. I want to cite here...... A bird had come from far across To spend winter in warmer climes, To them border made no good rhymes— To them human concerns were gross. Beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.

We humans never seem to learn from nature, even from birds whom we call bird-brains. Thank you for reading and liking it.

We call them as bird-brains, but that perhaps applies to humans. Thanks dear Dr Swain for the good words.
