Bleak-Light-August>>> Poem by Manonton Dalan

Bleak-Light-August>>>

we were given notice
early morning to heed
we were smile-less faces
may great hands come
save us from idle days
we need work not rest

we have feast maybe last
took extra bread and meat
cool soda to rinse our thirst
it brings back more memories
years after of togetherness
most hopeful for the best
