'Born Agin' Poem by Joseph Anderson

'Born Agin'

Rating: 5.0

We talked and this he told me,
'I don't have to run from sin,
For now I have repented
And have been 'born agin'.

You see, it matters little,
All the good or bad we do;
What saved me was the power of grace
And that should see me through'

I pondered what this covered,
Wondered when this grace begins;
Does it cover misbehavings
On past and future sins?

Then, looking all about me
To survey the plights of man,
I wondered if it mattered
This, or any other plan.

I don't intend to denigrate
Man's thoughts on soul or sin;
Should we seek another way to go,
Or live with 'born agin'.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Is not love, kindness, compassion, brotherhood
of man and morality what we should be seeking?

Loved this so very deep and true poem. Makes you think about what is and what should be, and how it affects both you and me. Thank you for sharing.

On reading your notes Joseph, yes I agree with you. Being 'born again' means a great deal more than many truly understand. An excellent write, very wise.
