Bri's Christmas Morn,2016 .... [ I Was Inspired To Write After Receiving A Warm X-Mas Morning Message From P H Friend Lynn W. Petty; Exaggerated; Short]
Last night I swear I left the chimney flue open,
and ALL night long, for gifts, I SO MUCH was hopin'!
But each time I got up to the bathroom to pee...
I found not a single wrapped gift...about the tree!
The same was true as the Sun came up, rising.
Gosh darn! That SURE WAS, to me, surprising.
Then I looked to the mantelpiece, at MY stocking,
and there I saw a 'gift', Unexpected & Shocking! !
My stocking was overflowing, but NOT with toys,
not with anything that's left for GOOD girls 'n' boys.
But, what to my wondering eyes DID appear.....
was a load of Deer Dung from eight tiny reindeer.

Dear Bri., You are a Nut! ! I find this a great poem. Not for posterity perhaps but, it rhymes and is funny. Beneath it all there is a poet hiding somewhere. Regards, Lynn
