Broken Poem by Laquory Jones

Broken

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I sit back and rewind flashing
Back in the moments of time as it chimes
Trying to relax the mind until every storm
Passes just then I began to suffocate under
The Excessive weight it's on me like
Molasses so no longer I'm getting passes
But I'm left to be blasted and there is no
Getting pass it I sink through this façade
Like I'm fine but no doubt I'm bleeding but
No one hears my pleading nope there was
No interceding as I press rewind the hour

Glass begins to shatter it's mind over matter
When thoughts begins to scatter the only thing
Left to do is to watch it splatter when broken
Dreams lay upon the pavement that's an
Understatement it's more Like embankments
Just demons that I'm slaying until I'm decaying
Day out and day in people don't get what I'm
Saying they don't know my story they can only
Judge then you wonder why I hold a grudge
My inner feelings Runs so deep inside me
That they don't even budge in the Heart is

Where they mainly trudge as I look back and
Reflect with emotions buried up to the neck
I struggle with keeping them in check where
Anger and pain had intersected because there
Wasn't a way for me to deflect it so instead it
Had begun to peg then exploded like a keg
And no matter how many times I beg my words
Are unheard or unsaid now I'm seeing red it
Hurts to cope when backs are against the ropes
Going on downward slopes but now I finally see

That I'm broken but these scars will always remain
A token even when words have gone unspoken
They are left to remind us the things which binds us
That we could never put behind us but defines us

Repression and suffering...they are both physical and emotional; they are caused by the self and others. You have captured the essence of a profound human experience. A great poem.
