Broken Stalk … 1903-2k13 Poem by saadat tahir

Broken Stalk … 1903-2k13

In loneliness shed to drift
Perilously perched on downward slant

Curled in a tortured twist
Bear pain, anguish of life, vacant gaunt

Warped blunt wisps and points
Lie hacked and broke in forlorn haunt

Colors of fall sorrow death
Thrown on wayside, cast shadows long

Broken stalk that held to life
To no one in particular or place I belong

Sway rolling I tumble on
Away away in silent pain I rustle along

I hope the bird sits now on a flowery bough and sings the songs of happiness. :)

The poet depicts his feelings beatifully and symbolically...a bird perched on broken stalk. Life's sorrows and griefs really make us swaying on the broken stalks but somehow we survive the anguish.
