Brown Sugar Cinnamon Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Brown Sugar Cinnamon

Tonight, I am going to grab you
By the hand & dance with you
In brown sugar flames and
Toasted cinnamon skin.
Two stencils dressed as souls
Traced out in each other's company,
A language that goes without
Explanation.
Tonight, I am going to gaze into
Your eyes & balance myself
To the beat of your heart
A song I want to hear
A song that bubbles up and
Steams over the top,
A trace of you left with me,
Always.
The best stress relief by far
Is when I am around you
Whenever you're in my arms.
I love when you lay your head
Against my chest.
I love how free & loose you become.
I can listen to this song forever
Toasted in brown sugar & hints
Of cinnamon.
I can stare into your eyes
& Dance with you all night
