You said you'd always be there
and that you'd never leave me.
Guess you woke up one day
and realized I ain't worth a shit.
It's okay, I'm used to it.
They all do in the end.
It was great while it lasted.
You were my best friend
my life preserver
my superman.
And I'll always remember you
as the man who was there.
Because you accepted me for what I am
when everyone else turned their backs on me.
