Calls Home Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Calls Home

Calls Home

It doesn't matter what happens
In the world around us,
Grab my hands & don't let go.
I unravel how I feel & don't have
To worry about where it falls.
My fingers clinched in yours,
It doesn't matter if you're under me
Or on top of me.
Squeeze me just as tight as I squeeze
You.
If you've sprung a leak I'll fill you
With me.
If at all you feel weak, crash against me
& I'll catch you.
My eyes deep in yours.
There's nothing you can do to hurt me,
I am at peace with you.
It doesn't matter what happens in
The world around us,
The whole world could flood
As long as my body is
The peninsula your body calls home.
Whether a new beginning or end,
Home is wherever we make it
