Calm After The Storm Poem by Jennifer Birchall

Calm After The Storm

Rating: 5.0

Finally the storm has calmed
Puddles are the footprints left
Ripples from the pounding rain
Are slowly becoming smaller
As the delicate drops barely make an impact
The water is not like murky mud
Is getting clearer, not crystal yet
But I look and see my reflection
I am starting to see the real me staring back

Wow...this poem blew me away! A perfect title for this piece. After the storm, the chaos, the turmoil and the murky waters, we start to regain our self, our reflection we can see and finally we can see ourselves again! Awesome the way you presented this piece!

How after the rain the consequences of the storm recede to disclose your true reflection to you in the clearer puddles.

As in nature, calm after the storm of relationships provide one the opportunity to pause and ponder the needs of oneself in order to prepare for the next storm to come. Beautiful poem!

I love this one. Storms are just like that, they are scary in the moment, but leave behind puddles as mirrors for us to look back at ourselves. Beautiful!

Very potent. Full of emotions, raw but delicate. I wish you get to the point that " the delicate drops barely make an impact" in your emotions and life. I do believe that " The water is not like murky mud" anymore and you are getting close to your inner peace.
