Canonization... Sunday, April 27,2014, In Rome

Rating: 5.0

Two popes were shot out of a canon today
It was the first time they did that in history
Before today they only did that to one
Why would they shoot a saint from a gun?

At the circus I’ve seen clowns canonized
As a child I thought it much fun
But as an adult I began to wonder
Suppose they misfired the gun?

Would one pope be John Paul II, who did get shot. The second pope could be Paul VI, but I'm only guessing. A 'different' religious poem indeed.
