Your face is carved in my mind
Like a hieroglyph upon an ancient temple
Time cannot weaken its persistence
The imprint is obstinate like my love
I tell myself a face is not all, not irreplaceable
Some other smile can have a similar magic
Searching amidst alternatives I see hope
Yes, the mind can dethrone anyone
When it finds a new fantasy for solitude
But every time I erase your face
And sketch a new one on the page
I feel I have erased my reason to be.
Beautifully penned. Great wordplay. Like to read again and again. Nice share.
