C-herish the borrowed life,
H-uman is not the owner;
E-arly morn ninth of July,
R-ecognize God as the Maker.
R-ealize that God has created
Y-our life and borrowed breath;
M-an's spirit, soul, and body
A-re all designed like
E-arth.

C-herish the borrowed life,
R-emember the Almighty;
I-t's He who lets you live,
S-o you can serve Him in glory.
T-ime truly draws to a close,
O-vercome any kind of strife;
B-egin to praise the Father,
A-nd cherish the borrowed
L-ife.
