Chevelle's Promise Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Chevelle's Promise

I promised you a poem with no lines or verse,
One with little to no thought,
So then you could clearly see,
I then promised you another poem,
One you could hear,
Close as the air you breathe,
And that once you heard it,
You'll grin from ear to ear,
As you'd know it was sincerely sealed with a kiss,
I promised you a poem that would come from the angels that watch high above,
One sent from angel wings and laments that would make the wind itself shiver,
I promised you a poem that would give you all of me but none of me at the same time as it's the thought that succeeds any touch that's physical,
I promised you a poem with little to no words,
One you could clearly hear,
As it ends and begins with the throb of my heart
