Christmas Cheer - Poem by Glenn Grabbe

Spanning the globe with Christmas cheer
The traditions of two thousand years
The birth of everlasting light
Bring us peace on earth tonight.
The legends, the stories, the music, the songs
Evoke your memories where feelings are strong
Of people and places, family and friends
Where joy is shared and happiness blends.
The parties, the banquets, the feasts are prepared
Where people are gathered and goodness is shared.
Gifts are exchanged with gladness and fun
But the first gift was God's heavenly Son.
His birth in Bethlehem one night
Was announced with bright angelic light
Heaven and earth stood still in awe
Christ the child was what they saw.
And the biggest event, the worlds greatest changer
Was a tiny baby asleep in a manger.
