Citizen Of The World Poem by Romeo Della Valle

Citizen Of The World

With each new morning
I watch as the sun rises
Joining the blue sky
In a beautiful celebration
Clearly reflecting
The spectra on Earth
The flowers dance
With great joy
And a new day is born!

The leaves on the trees
Shake in merriment
Magical colors
Dancing In the breeze
Blending hues on the horizon
While the birds
Happily chirp and sing!

As the world awakens
With new challenges
Thoughts and ideas
Wait to be uncovered
New life is warmly
Welcomed with
A baby's first cry
Fed and safely kept
In his mother's arms!

Somewhere out there
In this vast world are
Hungry children and
People with nothing
To eat or shoes to
Put on their feet
Wounds awaiting
To be healed
Their struggle unknown
And often concealed!

I speak the language
Of love, heartbroken
Witnessing the world
Falling apart slowly!

The beauty of life lies
Within itself and I as
A Citizen of the World
I pray to the Lord for
Humanity's sake!
