Close Friend Dying Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Close Friend Dying

Pangs of loneliness, piercing, destroying inner tranquility.
Fear of losing someone drains the life from beings.
Holding on, looking for hope in anything,
wanting to have faith, trying to have it -
praying - knowing that it is not within reach at this moment.
Drenched in the silence of impatient waiting,
searching for rays of hope within the
blackness of despair.
Forgetting how to live life as it used to be lived.
Now living from minute to minute.
