Cold Love

Rating: 5.0

I loved you
Yesterday
When so young
But today
So damn old
And so cold

A curious poem for reflection and I appreciated Mj's comment which brought more thought to light so one can only guess at the many senarios that eventuated this situation. Old and cold....hmm...is it time to be more warm, explore and communicate or exit the relationship. Surely living with unhappiness is not conducive to ones own happiness. However an unloving person is, greater is their need for love and healing.

This is a fantastic meditation, Richard. Is there passion in ice? Is there vitality in emptiness? On the one hand, there is a bleak landscape. On the other hand, even that cannot preclude hope. Very thought provoking, Richard.

M.J., not only do I love your great response, but you've given me some ideas for new poems. Thanks for inspiring me!
