Colours Of Love...................... - Poem by M. Asim Nehal

Sometimes I wonder
What should be the colour of love?
Colours like red, blue, green all occupied
Yellow, brown and pink all well defined
Is it a colour which no eyes have seen!
Or is it that mind never perceived
I saw the colour of love in different shades
When a mother held her child
The colour was caress
When father held it became protection
When teacher held
It became learning
When he went with lover
It became sensual
When he grew old
It became wisdom
I saw through the prism of life
all the shades of love.

Wow! You get it don't you Asim? ! I love this poem. Relating love to colors....I too have thought along these lines...when I wrote my own poem, The Colors of My Longing. I didn't think of relating color to other emotions...thank you for doing so! (Report) Reply

To use the expressions of love as its colors is very powerful & original! I hope you include the rest of the colors of love. Really enjoyed reading it. Thanks a lot (Report) Reply

Wow! This poem encompasses so many aspects of love. It's clear you know the meaning of the word, Asim. I am sure there are many special someones in your life because you clearly have enough of the variations of love in your heart for many expressions of it. To treat love in this poem as a color is so where I understand where you are coming from. (What a sentence I just wrote and I probably would not get a good grade from an English teacher! But I will leave it as is, because it came off that way...) I voted it a 10 because it's so genuine. (Report) Reply

Which is why the colorblind can see much better than you or I.
For they can see right into your heart and not the color of your skin.
    Thanks for sharing.
