Complaint Of A Lover Poem by Mohammad Muzzammil

Complaint Of A Lover

Oh, my heart aches with a lover's pain,
A longing that never seems to wane,
For the one who holds my heart and soul,
Who has left me with an empty hole.

I search the crowds for a glimpse of you,
But you are nowhere to be found, it's true,
My heart races at the thought of your touch,
But I'm left with nothing, it's all too much.

I hear your voice in every whisper of the wind,
And see your face in every shadow that's pinned,
I feel your presence in every step I take,
But you're not beside me, my heart does break.

The memories we shared, the love we knew,
It's all that's left, in this pain so true,
I long to hold you, to feel your embrace,
But all I have is this empty space.

So here I am, with a lover's complaint,
A heart that aches with a never-ending taint,
Of love that's lost, but still burns so bright,
I'll keep hoping, for a love that's right.
