Conjugating Alone Poem by Sandra Feldman

Conjugating Alone

Rating: 5.0

I think alone,
I dream alone,
I love alone
I am alone.

The Autumn leaves,
The wind has blown,
The Winter trees,
Survive alone.

Sandra, you have such intelligence sparkling in your verses. The title alone tells the reader there is an educated and ingenuous mind at work here. The first four lines could be enjoyed just on its surface for its smoothness that the reader can skate over, smiling at the layer of humor... The readers who know better sit back and look deeper. Thinking, dreaming and loving are things we humans do alone while wanting, craving, unity with another being, sensing we were not created to be alone, yet failing to bridge that gap between us, we live an unfulfilled life... You are such an amazing poet with the heart of a searcher after truth and the mind of a professor or an innovator and the soul of a saint. 10+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

After these more than wonderful words, can I feel alone? No, I don't think so, . Is there any way I can thank you for what you have said. No, I don't think so. Just blessing, now and ahead.

We Agree! Someone else does too, Bette Davis' autobiography is called 'The Lonely Life'.

I hear ya, Sandra. Surviving, yes, not horrible in and of itself, but not quite fulfilling either
