Corruption. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Any private gain by misuse of
public office, position and power
of a country is corruption.
A type of moral perversion,
causes severe interruption
in smooth progress
of organisations and nations.

Some are corrupt with regard
to money, some to power while
some for women.
Certainly corruption is not inherent in money, power, women,
but exists in our
purpose and intention.

It is an epidemic in most nations,
may be difficult for eradication
as it has infected the grass root
of systems and organisation.
Uncorrupt political system
is the only weapon to wipe out
the malignant carcinogen.
At the same time the bribe givers,
bribe takers must get stringent
punishment and moral lesson.

The nexus of symbiosis between
a corrupt politician and a corrupt
bureaucrat must break to uproot the evil consequences
of corruption.
Then and only then nations
can move unhindered in
the rectilinear path of progression.
