Could I Get A Second Opinion?

Rating: 5.0

'I've got good news, and I've got bad, '
my doctor said to me.
'Give me the bad news first, ' I said,
'as candid as could be.'

'Those meds that we have got you on,
I just informed your wife:
You'll have to take them every day
the rest of your whole life! '

'The good news is, there won't be much
that you will have to buy;
all you will need, I'm fairly sure,
is just a week's supply! '

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by a visit to my cardiologist this week, who told me that I will probably be taking blood thinners for the rest of my life because I have a gene that pre-disposes me to blood clots. He did NOT say that I would only need them for another week, though! Written 12 March 2020

Robert Murray Smith, you had two comments on this poem yesterday, and now you have deleted them both! Have you gone into hiding again with one of your many aliases?
