that it still selects and infects innocent people
without any warning even as they walk past by each other?

What is the supremacy of this corona virus and its variants
that world has to face a new variant every time
and a new wave of infection again and again?

What is the supremacy of this coronavirus and its variants
that the contagions as strains keep imposing infections
and re-infections that keep surging in multitudes
all over the world and in each and every country?

What is the supremacy of this corona virus and its variants
that people have to fight and survive every variant
when their inability to respire has long weakened
and the new variants keep jolting every town and city
even if people have taken due care and precaution?

What is the supremacy of this corona virus and its variants
that people cannot live with peace and free mind
as they are restricted to go outdoors
yet the virus catches them at one point or another,
at one time or another without any empathy?

that people have to manage constant fear and anxiety
as the virus keep resurfacing with new strains
and re-infections year after year like an annual festival?

that people cannot breathe liberally
as they have to wear face masks and stay indoors
besides following the safety rules all thro the months
that have now turned into years?

that it makes people cry as they pray
and whether young or old the virus still goes on
and makes people struggle on the ventilators
just like fishes keep searching for oxygen in an aquarium?

that a disease like COVID-19 was never known
to exist in our books of science and medicine
yet it created a world-wide hysteria and havoc?

that it baffles doctors to see people die or suffer
and they feel so helpless unable to save them
as some patients perish like night flies who wait
to see the dawn yet they don't make it?

What is the supremacy of this corona virus and its variants
that it is so callous and puts families in sorrows,
and fills their hearts with grief and sadness
as those who depart are buried instantly
and they get no proper funeral or farewell?

that there was no known cure for such viruses
and though vaccines were developed,
the condition of the vaccinated still remains a suspense
as the new variants keep emerging and challenging
human immunity thus moving man's confidence in
vaccines backward and forward just like a pendulum?

that it makes people suddenly the untouchables
that doctors and nurses have to wear PPE suits
in hospitals and after death the Covid-19 victims have
to be buried so hurriedly and silently?

and new viruses like delta and omicron appear
and keep infecting and invading every town and city
like a locust attack in a silent desert.

that the sordid impact of the covid-19 shall remain
forever in the minds of people all over the world
as one common memory and a page
on the books of world history as a chapter of epidemic?

that it imposed on people a rigorous pandemic
which caused devastation to human life
and made the whole world helplessly watch it
as no prayers nor medicines could terminate it?

that every mind which is was so full of mental strength
could contest and battle the forces of any war
but could not combat the variants of the coronavirus
which trembled the world with its invisible power?

that as we lived, loved and laughed for many years,
at this point of time we have to worry or cry
as the coronavirus has made everyone to tell and write
its story in each and every magazine, newspaper
and news bulletins though it was only a virus in the air
and not a gun or a bullet, not a bomb or an explosion,
not a friend but only an invisible foe in our atmosphere?
