Dear Dr. Yoe In The U.S.A..... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Dear Dr. Yoe In The U.S.A.....

Rating: 5.0

Dear Dr. Yoe In The USA….

my cutest cousin from my mother's side
we want to wish you a happy birthday today,
if you read this,
and don't miss

our message for you, Dr. Yoe Jr.
your happy parties,
since you left Bandung
you are married to the daughter
of the famous ophthalmology Professor,

you moved to Boston together
and you still live there,
we had been so much fun in indonesia,
we visit each other's birthdays, Bandung-Jakarta
as our birthdays are really one after the other:

Lola on November 16th and you on November 17th,
your dad on 20, me on 22 and my mom on November 30,

it has become a family tradition
in this Feast month so many celebrations
to celebrate them all,
so cozy, nice and stay tall,

that was very easy
since we lived close together,

now you are in the USA
you always knew better
since there was greatest discrimination
you 'moved' to Boston with your in-laws
and got your doctorate on the spot no flaws
and you work in the local hospital
in the city where you reside, cared by your in-laws

We wish you extra happiness and love,
I have to tell you that in our youth
I never regretted to be each other's playmates,
we had a very lot of fantasy,
our world was truly race-free
those were times,
the girls were sublime
you and my bro
ah, those were times….

Happy BirthDay, Dr. Yoe Jr.
very sad Dr. Yoe Sr is now no more....
