Decision Fatigue Poem by David Wood

Decision Fatigue

Rating: 5.0

The world is now weary of Covid
As we enter the third anniversary,
Rampaging everywhere uncoated
It has been a tough adversary.

Governments suffer decision fatigue,
They are simply out of their depth,
As new variants hit like a blitzkrieg
Globally, and takes our very breath.

Decision fatigue causes much pain
'No more lockdowns' they now say
'Keep the economy open for our gain'
Now more workers fall ill every day.

And the economy again closes down.
The measure of a statesman is in
Making correct decisions, It's their crown,
The buffoons we have just can't win.

They dither and dither and then hide
Away from the poor suffering public.
They have failed to become our guide,
They're just inept which makes you sick.

We are all led by over paid zombies
Whose decision fatigue leaves us agog
We would be better led by donkeys
Wandering through fields of thick fog!

A very keen and brilliant observation woven in a well expressed and incisive poem.

Leadership is tested through the decisions of government officials to curb the effects of the pandemic.
