I open my television
first thing that I hear
telling me lots of savings
discount here, everywhere
how could I save when I spend
for things I don't even need
things I could do without
then I cry to high heaven
I am buried in debt; whose
to blame; vendors, president

we are victim of our own doing
we want things we can't afford
to show off maybe, to satisfy
our desires, then baam worry
go check your closet how many
pairs of clothes you have that
you never wear, shoes, bags
watches, hats, socks, earings
garage sale all those things then
go buy again, buy again, buy

there are people smart enough
to buy then next day they return
they satisfy their current urges
or they're scolded or realize
go charge it, it's good for economy
make sure you have enough to cover
