Desolation Meadow Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Desolation Meadow

Rating: 5.0

How the desolation of this meadow is
Lost by bulldozer
And covered with pavement
Making room for homes
That people are demanding
But what of the wildflowers and birds
As the silence disappears
The pollution kills the beauty
All for a quick buck

A very incisive yet thoughtful write. The beauty of nature and the protection of the environment are sacrificed by quick buck. So well expressed.

The Creator's beauty is being destroyed by man's greed. Joni Mitchell should revise Big Yellow Taxi to include your ode to the environment.
