Destructive Criticism Poem by Obed dela Cruz

Destructive Criticism

It is a poison from a venomous snake
And saying it is a terrible mistake.
You should blame foolishness for its existence
Because it hinders a hand to reach success.

Many lives have already been endangered.
So I ask, please don’t say a destructive word
Because this dark world is in need of humans
Who will rise and restore it’s lost importance.

So please, if you don’t have anything to say,
Sit gently and don’t interrupt someone’s day.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

How true. Some comments get personal and focus on the writer and not the work. Some are judgmental and make conclusions out of context, thus creating an atmosphere of negativity, that does not profit the writer nor the reader.10+
