Do For Me And I Will Do For You - Poem by chuck Hurley

What I see is not always what it seems to be
Is there some one who is trying to trick me?
What I hear is not always what was said
Is it because I have a weakness to be mislead?

When I speak do you understand its meaning
Or do you think; where did he get so much learning?
What I say and what I write
I do for you; to make life's journey; O' so bright.

I did not get these ideas and thoughts all by myself
Given to me for a book to be read and then put on the shelf.
What it has given me it will do for you
Let the creator fill your life with a beautiful view.

I am not some one special who has found the way
I am just like you except I talk and listen to it say.
'My children I love you and yet you toil alone
Did I not create others to help you; lift the stone'?

The stone of evil and hate that hids from your view
Love of your fellow human beings and their need for you.
Pickup the stone and I will help you do what must be done
To turn it into dust and to do it without a gun.

A gun destorys and I want to build for you
a life of joy and peace and contribuitons too.
Helping human beings whose needs are no different than yours
Know that I love you and a victory will be won'.
