Do Not Destroy Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Do Not Destroy

Rating: 5.0

The facilities are provided
For the people but opinion is divided
We fail to protect it as sacred
The love for public property is dead

People are paying in form of tax
So the poor can avail some facility and relax
With one riot in city, the property is put to torch
We have developed mentality as such

Not only bloodshed but complete harmony
Above and all sweet bond of brotherhood blessed by almighty
Everything is sacrificed for selfish end
We fail to distinguish who is foe or friend

We the poor people are at loss
We stand at the life that is at cross road
How much loss for the want of simple greed?
What do we actually gain from such need?

The people are again levied with simple dose
They have to pay more for even if not choose
The burden passes on to the people of poor class
The facility is deprived form entire mass

Let us not burn public property
Let us protect even if there is unrest in city
It is our property and must be used for common good
Spread such message among all including neighborhood

Public property is looked upon as no man's property and we destroy it without any qualms! It is actually everyone's property and for each act of destruction, we have to give a heavy price either in the form of tax or deprivation of a common facility! Beautifully rhyming poem with a great message! !
