Does She?
My mother used to wake up,
At odd hours
To watch me sleep.
Does she still wonder
If I sleep in comfort?
My mother used to fight all odds,
Does she still wonder
If I fight all odds?
My mother used to guide me through,
Does she still wonder
If I am lost in the woods,
So dark?
My mother used to be my strength,
Does she still wonder
If I have that strength?
My mother used to teach me life,
Does she still wonder,
If what is left in me of 'life? '
My inner self searches for her sign,
Does she still wonder
If 5 years without her
Have been so harsh?
Does she still wonder
When I stare at the sky,
So dark?
My quest places me in the past,
Does she still wonder
If my present can
Recreate my past?
Fine remembrance woven in meaningful words deep so painful is the narration..........
