Don'T Play Games With My Heart Poem by Paula Glynn

Don'T Play Games With My Heart

I do love you, I don't deny,
But if you break my heart,
I won't cry and I won't die.
You're not the boss of me,
You don't decide for me,
And you'll never steal my pride,
I am not your object to control,
No one controls me.
I may be a peacemaker,
But I am not your fool,
So don't play games with this heart.
Don't cheat and creep around,
Or you're gone, and if you lie,
In any way, you'll be caught out,
And I may not shout,
But you'll hear my words.
You can be in this heart,
But it is not a fragile heart,
So don't cry crocodile tears:
I won't bruise, no matter your game.
I won't tell you what to do,
Just stay faithful, honest and true,
So there'll only be my kiss,
And I'll never call you a taxi,
Late at night,
Because we should stick together,
Your loyalty all I ask.
